Jellyfish in Monterey

It was our last weekend in California so we took off to Monterey and checked out the Aquarium there as well as Steinbeck's Cannery district. The coast around Monterey was gorgeous. The aquarium has an incrediable jelly fish display and we also got to pet the sting rays!

Saturday we took a tour of UCBerekley. Although a little early for Derek to start picking a college, we thought it would be fun to check it out. We really had fun on the tour and learned a lot about the Golden Bears. Did you know that freshman have a tradition of rolling down 4.0 hill on the first day of school in hopes of receiving a 4.0?

We ended the evening with a night time tour of Alcatraz. Got to hear some fasinating stories about the history of this one time fortress and memorable prison. Seemed even creepier at night. Didn't see any ghosts though.

Now we get ready for the big move, we are more than ready and even anxious to get there. We don't know what to expect and are trying hard NOT to have expectations but to be open to adventure and the challenge. As soon as we are settled we will write you from Jakarta! Posted by Picasa

Cool picture of jellyfish. Look forward to hearing and seeing more about Indonesia. Maybe I'll try doing this for my (much shorter) stay in Norway in April-June
