The Sandbergs in Indonesia
Joel Sandberg of Appleton, Wisconsin,has been posted to an eight month-plus assignment to Jakarta, Indonesia. This blog will be used by Joel, his wife Karon, and their children Derek, age 16, and Claire, age 10, to record and share their experiences with family, friends, and schoolmates.

Great updates--I'm transfixed by the info and I think you should write a book when you get back--sort of "The Accidental Tourist" but suitable for family viewing!
The motorbikes look positively unsafe! Can you imagine what a crew of personal injury attorneys would do with that? I love your entry on the demonstrations and the paid rabble--that's a job I'd like if there wasn't a possiblity of getting tear-gassed.
We had the big anniversary concert for Rick this past weekend...Joel, we missed you and you would have loved the music but you're on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! We had a great crowd, Rick selected amazing pieces and the chapel had a terrific crowd. AND, there was CAKE afterwards (bonus).
Miss both of you tons, but this blog helps to stay connected.
